Delhi Confidential: Hitting It Right

When MoS Education Jayant Chaudhary and Olympics gold medallist Abhinav Bindra interacted with athletes from Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas on Wednesday, Chaudhary himself had a few questions for Bindra after the students had their turn. Saying that Bindra is a champion in every field and is “so eloquent that he could come into politics”, Chaudhary asked him what other sports he played. Citing Mike Tyson’s return to the ring at 58, Chaudhary asked Bindra, 42, if he might return to the sport. Bindra responded with a “no chance” to the second question, and to the first, he said he hated sports (physical exertion) as a child and was introduced to shooting where he didn’t have to move around much.

In Support

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi endorsing Sabarmati Report, it took no time for the entire BJP to show support to the movie, starring Vikrant Massey. On Tuesday, BJP national president and Union Health Minister watched a show organised by BJP’s Delhi unit, along with BJP national media head and Lok Sabha MP Anil Baluni, party general secretary Arun Singh, Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva. Nadda has even given a call for every party worker and others to watch the film which, he said, is based on “true story of what happened in Godhra” in 2002. On Wednesday morning, Union Minister Hardeep Puri organised a special screening at PVR Chanakyapuri for those who missed out.
