Amazon recently unveiled the Echo Show 21, a massive wall-mounted smart display that offers better sound quality and nearly double the viewing area compared to the Echo Show 15, the company’s first smart display that made its debut two years ago. Apart from the bigger Echo Show, the tech giant also launched a new Echo Show 15, which has the same camera, audio and smart home features.
According to Amazon, the Echo Show 21 delivers “immersive sound, double the bass and room adoption technology.” The company’s new smart displays also feature an auto-framing camera that more than doubles the field of view and lets users zoom 65 per cent more compared to the previous generation.
Both 15- and 21-inch Echo Show devices double up as a smart home hub, support Wi-Fi 6E and are compatible with Thread and Zigbee devices. Similar to this year’s Echo Hub, these devices will also let users locally control things like lights, plugs and switches.
Another thing to note is that the 15- and 21-inch Echo Show have the same feature set as Fire TVs and are compatible with the Fire TV remote, so users can control and watch content on these displays using the same remote they use to control the dongle.
On the home screen, you get a customisable calendar, shopping and to-do list widgets and smart home controls. You also have a new audio widget that shows your favourite music in groups, tapping on which will play audio on multiple speakers.
The new Echo Show devices come with Alexa Voice Remote and wall mounting equipment. The Echo Show 15-inch and Echo Show 21-inch can be purchased from Amazon for $299.99 and $399.99 respectively, which roughly translates to Rs 25,350 and Rs 33,800.
