Rishi Kapoor passed away after a long illness in 2020 and in a recent interview, his daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni recalled his last two wishes which were fulfilled after his passing. Riddhim, while talking about her family members shared that one of Rishi’s last wishes was to see his son Ranbir Kapoor married. She mentioned that his other last wish was to get their house in Bandra completely done.
In a chat with Zoom, Riddhima said, “His last two wishes were getting Ranbir married and getting the house ready. So house is almost ready, Ranbir is married. It was very very emotional for us. I really wish he was here with us but I guess god had other plans.” Ranbir was already dating Alia when Rishi passed away. The two later tied the knot in 2022. The Kapoor house in Bandra has been under construction for a few years now and is on the verge of getting completed.
Talking about Ranbir and Alia’s wedding, Riddhima said that Rishi threw a big wedding for her but this time around, Ranbir and Alia both decided that they wanted to host an intimate wedding. “I had a really big wedding so I didn’t have a good time at my wedding at all. My dad wanted to have the biggest wedding, which he did. So Ranbir was like, ‘you know what, we have had a big wedding in the family, a big celebration so this time…’ And he is a very simple guy. Both Ranbir and Alia are very simple people. So they were like we want to do it very small,” she shared.
Riddhima recalled what Alia and Ranbir had on their minds when they planned an intimate wedding and shared, “They said we just want people who matter to us, people who we are in touch with every single day and we want to have a good time ourselves and they did. Both of them were beaming with joy. They have thoroughly enjoyed their wedding and they met everyone, spent time with everyone,” she shared.
Ranbir and Alia got married at their residence in Bandra in April 2022. They are now parents to their daughter Raha Kapoor.
