IndiGo launches direct flights from Pune to Dubai, Bangkok

IndiGo Friday launched two direct flights from Pune – one to Dubai and the other to Bangkok.

The flights were initially scheduled to start operating from October 27 but the launch was postponed.

An IndiGo spokesperson said Pune’s links to both Dubai and Bangkok were crucial for the city’s growing IT and automobile sectors. These direct flights will foster better trade and tourism between the cities, supporting economic growth, he added.

The flight from Pune to Dubai will depart daily at 17:40, arriving in Dubai at 22:10. The return flight will depart for Pune at 00:15. The Pune-Bangkok flight will operate three times a week – on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays – departing at 23:10, with the return flight from Bangkok leaving at 01:15.

According to Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo, with the introduction of these flights, IndiGo will now operate over 85 direct weekly flights to Thailand from eight cities in India.

Festive offer

Prior to Friday’s additions, Pune airport operated only two direct international flights: a SpiceJet service to Dubai, active for several years, and an Air India (formerly Vistara till merger with Air India) flight to Singapore, launched in December 2023. With the launch of these new flights, Pune now has four direct international flights connecting it to three global destinations: Dubai, Bangkok, and Singapore.
