Plane crashes into 3 cars on highway in Texas, four people injured

In an incident reported from Victoria in Texas, a small plane crashed into three cars on Wednesday, injuring four people and also led to the shut down of a busy parkway.

The crash took place at the intersection of Zac Lentz parkway and Mockingbird Lane at around 3pm on Wednesday and the Victoria Police Department responded to the incident.

A dual engine Piper Navajo struck three cars on the busy parkway and immediately split into two halves at the fuselage. The authorities informed that a total of five people were involved in the incident.

At least three people suffered non-life threatening injuries while one of them is being treated for serious injuries. The aircraft which crashed had only a pilot onboard and the injuries are being evaluated for the pilot, informed the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

According to a DailyMail report which quoted FlightAware, the plane took off from Victoria Regional Airport at around 9:52 am and was in the air for around five hours before it crashed into three cars.

The cause of the crash still remains unknown while the FAA has launched an investigation into the incident. The images and videos of the crash have gone viral on social media.

“This is not something we see everyday, but we are glad that people seem to be OK and they´re getting checked out,” said Victoria Police Deputy Chief Eline Moya, as reported by DailyMail.

Victoria Police further added that the intersection on the parkway between Zac Lentz Parkway and Mockingbird Lane has been closed.
