Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Scheme: Eligibility, documents, application process, and all you need to know

The scheme was included in the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 and was proposed by AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal with a ₹2,000 crore budget allocated for the same.

With an aim to improve the quality of life of underprivileged women, this scheme is designed to offer monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 to eligible women in Delhi.

“I had promised 1000 per month for women of Delhi. And I am happy to announce that CM Atishi’s cabinet has approved this scheme today. Now women can register and avail this scheme,” Kejriwal stated to the press on December 12.

He further added that it is expected to increase to ₹2,100 if AAP returns to power in the upcoming elections. Here’s all you need to know about the scheme.

Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Scheme: Eligibility

  • Permanent resident of Delhi.
  • The applicant must be female and 18 years or older.
  • Annual family income should not exceed ₹3 lakh.
  • Excludes government benefits, government employment or taxpayer, and pensions.
  • A self-declared affidavit stating eligibility criteria, including one that is not receiving any sort of benefits from the government.

  • Aadhaar card
  • Voter ID card
  • PAN card
  • Bank account details
  • Address proof: It can be in the form of an electricity bill, water bill, or ration card.
  • Age proof: It can be in the form of a birth certificate, school leaving certificate, or passport.
  • Income certificate: 
  • Self-declaration: Self-declaration is a document in which the applicant declares that she meets the eligibility criteria for the scheme.

  1. Download the application form from the Delhi government website.
  2. Submit the form and required documents at the nearest office.
  3. The government scrutinises applications for financial assistance.
  4. Verification by authorities checks submitted information.
  5. Approval notification by authorities, granting eligibility for scheme benefits.
