Renukaswamy murder case: Kannada film actor Darshan, friend Pavithra Gowda get bail

The Karnataka High Court on Friday granted bail to Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa. His friend Pavithra Gowda, and seven others — all arrested for their alleged role in the Renukaswamy murder case — were also given bail.

On October 30, Thoogudeepa had received six weeks of interim bail from Karnataka HC on medical grounds for a back surgery.

During a hearing on Monday, when the court reserved its order, the prosecution argued that the actor had still not undergone back surgery and a regular bail could be misused.

Earlier this year on June 11, Thoogudeepa was arrested for allegedly killing Renukaswamy, a fan, for sending obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda, the PTI reported.
