The latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show featured the cast and crew of the upcoming film Baby John, including Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Atlee and Kalees. During the show, Varun opened up about fatherhood and how life has changed since he and his wife, Natasha Dalal, welcomed their daughter, Lara, in June this year.
Sharing heartfelt and humorous anecdotes, Varun said, “I used to get scolded by one woman before but now I get scolded by two. I am learning how to burp her, how to swaddle her. Sometimes when she starts crying I feel terrified. Sometimes at night, when you are exhausted and she starts crying, I pretend to get up but Natasha gets up before me and goes to soothe her. No no…but you have to go because you feel anxious. ” His candid confession about the ups and downs of parenting struck a chord with the audience, who couldn’t help but laugh and empathize with his relatable experiences.
Earlier, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Varun Dhawan had shared deeper insights into becoming a parent, revealing the intense protective instincts that have emerged since daughter Lara’s birth. He described how fatherhood has profoundly impacted him, saying, “I think when any individual, any man becomes a parent, for the mother it is a different experience, I feel she becomes a tigeress, that moment only something happens. But, as a man, I’d say, that when we become parents, for some reason, you feel a protection towards your daughter. I am sure you feel for sons also, but towards the daughter… If anyone causes even so much (little) harm to her I’d kill them. I am dead serious when I say that. Literally, I’d kill them.”
Varun Dhawn’s next cinematic outing, Baby John, is said to be an adaptation of Atlee’s 2016 Tamil blockbuster Theri. Directed by Kalees, the film promises high-octane action. It is set to hit theatres on December 25.
