400 fake Fastrack watches seized from Pune clock shop, 2 booked

The Pimpri-Chinchwad police seized 400 counterfeit watches labelled as Fastrack from a clock shop in Dehu Road on Sunday.

The police booked Vinod Jain, 58, of ‘Diamond Watch’ shop in Dehu Road, and Kashinath Chavan, 26, a shop worker, under sections of the Copyright Act. As per a press release issued on Monday, Gaurav Tiwari, an official of ‘SNG Solicitors LLP’ lodged the complaint for the FIR in this case at the Dehu Road police station.

The press release said the accused were allegedly selling and transporting fake watches and other items worth Rs 4 lakh.

“We have seized the fake watches. Notices have been issued to the accused for further investigation,” said Police Inspector Vijay Waghmare.

Fastrack is an Indian fashion accessory brand that was launched in 1998 as a sub-brand of Titan. In 2005, Fastrack became an independent brand aimed at urban youth.
