Security lapses came to light during Diljit Dosanjh’s live concert, where 105 mobile phones were reported stolen despite a significant police presence and drone surveillance. The incident occurred on the evening of December 14, and the number of complaints continues to rise. So far, 105 cases have been officially registered, with authorities anticipating the total could exceed 150 as more victims come forward.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred at a live show. A similar situation was reported at Karan Aujla’s concert earlier, but the scale of thefts this time is much larger. Initially, only 21 complaints were lodged, but the figure grew as attendees discovered their phones missing.
Several concertgoers alleged that security checks at the entry gates were insufficient, allowing people with valid tickets or passes to enter without thorough screening. Thieves took advantage of the crowded venue, successfully stealing phones despite drone cameras being used to monitor the area.
Although police were deployed across the venue, efforts to apprehend the culprits on-site were unsuccessful. Earlier thefts at Karan Aujla’s event had not resulted in effective preventive action, leading to a repeat of such incidents. Many attendees have now approached the police to register complaints regarding the theft of their phones.
