For a human being, the heart is one of the most important organs in the body. It helps to pump blood into the rest of our body and keep the blood circulation alive.
However, some creatures that do not have a heart at all!
Flatworms
Unlike all other animals, flatworms do not have a complex internal system. These aquatic creatures rely on diffusing nutrients and oxygen to their body parts and thus do not have a heart.
Jellyfishu
Yet another majestic aquatic creature, jellyfish uses their hollow cavity to circulate nutrients and oxygen within their body. They also do not have a heart.
Sea Sponges
Often found on ocean floors, sea sponges are colourful aquatic creatures lying on the bottom of the ocean bed. They do not have a heart. Instead, they have a simplistic mechanism to circulate nutrients and oxygen within their body.
Starfish
Most starfish have a unique bodily mechanism that helps them function and perform basic life functions such as movement, feeding, and supply of nutrients. They are said to draw in nutrients from small openings on their surface and circulate within their body.
Sea Urchins
Similar to starfish, sea urchins also draw nutrients from water and absorb them within their system. They also do not have a heart.
Tapeworms
Tapeworms also do not have a heart and use the openings in their body to flow nutrients.
Sea Cucumber
Sea cucumbers are marine animals that function similarly to starfish and sea urchins. They use this mechanism to move, feed, and supply vital nutrients.
Hydra
These simple creatures do not have a heart or a brain. They use their structure to absorb nutrients directly from water.
