Over the past few days, we have seen strong solidarity within Telugu cinema. It is best exemplified during pre-release events when filmmakers and actors hype each not just the film but their peers too. Remember SS Rajamouli hyping up Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun and Sukumar to the hilt at one of the many pre-release events of the blockbuster film? Now, it is the turn of Sukumar to extend the same to another film. With just days left for the release of director Shankar’s much-awaited Game Changer, which marks Ram Charan’s return to the big screen as a solo lead, the team were in the US for a promotional event. Sukumar, who was the special guest at the event, revealed that he has seen the film already.

Speaking at the Dallas event, Sukumar said, “I watched Game Changer with Chiranjeevi sir. So, I want to give the first review. The first half is awesome. There’s a blockbuster interval. And trust me… the flashback episode in the second half gave me goosebumps.” Game Changer marks Shankar’s maiden direct Telugu film, and expressing his admiration for the filmmaker, Sukumar said, “I enjoyed it as much as Shankar’s Gentleman and Bharateeyudu (Indian).”
Before the Pushpa films, Sukumar had helmed Rangasthalam, which showcased Ram Charan’s versatility as a performer. Talking about the performance of the RRR actor, Sukumar said, “I was so sure Charan would receive a National Award for Rangasthalam, so did others. But seeing his performance in Game Changer’s climax, I have a similar feeling. He will definitely get a National Award.” Interestingly, Ram Charan, who will next be seen in Buchi Babu Sana’s next, is expected to work in Sukumar’s followup to the Pushpa films.
Elaborating on his bond with the actor, Sukumar shared, “I love every hero who works with me because we work together for at least 3 years. But when the film is released, I don’t stay in touch with most of them. Charan is the only exception because we stayed in touch even after Rangasthalam. He is my brother; I love him more than anything. We often meet and discuss various things.”
