Advocate Pravindra Singh Chauhan was Monday appointed as Haryana’s new Advocate General (AG), the second in BJP-led government in the state. Baldev Raj Mahajan had been holding the charge of Haryana AG since 2014.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 165 of the Constitution of India, the Government of Haryana is pleased to appoint Pravindra Singh Chauhan Senior Additional Advocate General, Haryana, as Advocate General for the state of Haryana with immediate effect,” read a notification issued by Dr Sumit Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Administration of Justice Department.
After his appointment, Chauhan said, “Bringing down Haryana’s litigation while defending the State would be my priority.”
