Who is Lauren Sanchez, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ fiancé?

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has publicly denied reports about an extravagant $600 million wedding with fiancée Lauren Sanchez. It was claimed that the couple was allegedly preparing to host a grand winter wonderland-themed ceremony in Aspen, Colorado, next Saturday. Bezos dismissed the claims in response, calling the report “entirely false.”

The pair, who began dating in 2018 and went public with their relationship in 2019, have been a prominent couple since. The duo got engaged in May 2023 as they vacationed in the South of France on the billionaire’s $500 million yacht, according to People.

In an appearance on the Today Show in November 2024, Lauren revealed she’s planning her wedding and is “just like every other bride” with her Pinterest boards. “I never thought at 54 that I’d be getting married. Life is just beginning.”

Who is Lauren Sanchez?

Lauren Wendy Sanchez was born to a second-generation Mexican-American family on December 19, 1969, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her career spans the fields of journalism, aviation, and environmental advocacy.

Sanchez began as a broadcast journalist, earning recognition for her roles at Fox Sports Net, where she secured an Emmy nomination for her work on Going Deep. She also became an entertainment reporter on The Best Damn Sports Show Period and later anchored UPN News 13 at KCOP-TV, which earned her team an Emmy Award.

From 2011 to 2017, Sanchez co-hosted Good Day LA, a morning show that cemented her status as a television personality. Additionally, she appeared in several films, including The Longest Yard, Fight Club, and Ted 2.

In 2016, Sanchez combined her passion for storytelling and aviation by founding Black Ops Aviation, an aerial film and production company, through which she has consulted on several high-profile film projects, including Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk in 2017.

“I had my job, I had a career, and then I found a calling,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview. “I want to be in a helicopter all the time,” she said. “Life can be so chaotic with so much going on. Lift off and you’re in an energy space that no one else is in. It’s calming. When I’m up there, I’m completely satisfied. I’m like, ‘This is where I need to be.’”

In addition to her professional ventures, Sanchez serves as vice chair of the Bezos Earth Fund, focusing on combating climate change and preserving the environment. In September 2024, she released a bilingual children’s book, The Fly Who Flew to Space.

Sanchez has three children: Ella and Evan, from her marriage to Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell, and Nikko, her son from her relationship with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez.

In a 2023 interview with Vogue US, Sanchez said she would take Bezos’ last name after the wedding, “Uh, yes, 100 percent. I am looking forward to being Mrs Bezos.”
