Identity trailer: “Without knowing the specifics of the case of the timeline, recreating a face you saw weeks ago is very challenging,” says sketch artist Haran Shankar (Tovino Thomas), refuting typical movie depictions where someone walks into a police station, hears the details, sketches an exact likeness of the suspect, and leaves with ease. Identity’s latest promo begins by demonstrating that the reality is far more complex.
The highly anticipated trailer of directors Akhil Paul and Anas Khan’s Identity has finally arrived and it promises to be, as Tovino puts it, the “ultimate suspense action thriller spectacle of the season.” The 160-second video offers a series of compelling visuals that provide a glimpse into the film’s expansive and captivating world.
Meanwhile, we are also introduced to Alisha (Trisha Krishnan) and her efforts to unravel a mystery with the help of Haran. But things are far from easy, and time is ticking. The trailer also gives viewers a taste of the movie’s wide world and its gripping, high-stakes action, featuring intense sequences both inside an airborne flight and on the road in a thrilling car chase.
Alongside Tovino and Trisha, the film also stars Vinay Rai, Aju Varghese, Mandira Bedi and Shammi Thilakan, among others. Produced by Roy CJ and Raju Malliath under the banners of Confident Group and Ragam Movies, Identity features cinematography by Akhil George, editing by Chaman Chakko and music and original score by Jakes Bejoy. The movie is set to hit the screens on January 2.

Identity marks the second directorial venture of Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, who previously collaborated on the psychological thriller Forensic (2020), starring Tovino and Mamta Mohandas. The film was later remade in Hindi as Forensic: The Truth Lies Within (2022), with Radhika Apte, Vikrant Massey, Rohit Roy and Prachi Desai in key roles.
Identity also marks Trisha Krishnan’s return to Malayalam cinema after a six-year break, following her role in director Shyamaprasad’s Hey Jude, where she starred alongside Nivin Pauly.
