Dalits take out protest against Home Minister Amit Shah’s alleged objectionable remarks against Ambedkar in Mehsana

Condemning the recent comments of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Rajya Sabha on Dr B R Ambedkar, Dalits from Mehsana taluka of Mehsana Monday held a protest in Mehsana town. A memorandum with blood-soaked thumb impressions was submitted to the office of thr Mehsana district collector.

In the memorandum, addressed to President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President & Chairman of Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankhar, the protestors have sought to the resignation of Shah while also registering an FIR against Shah.

Kaushik Parmar, who led the group, said that Shah’s comments have hurt their sentiments.

Shah made the alleged objectionable comments on December 17 while replying to the two-day debate in Rajya Sabha on the “Glorious Journey of 75 Years of the Constitution of India”. As the Opposition took objection to Shah’s statements while terming it as Ambedkar’s insult, Shah had addressed a press conference and accused the Congress of spreading disinformation against him.
