Composer AR Rahman has shared his first social media post after confirming his separation from wife Saira Banu. Two days after they announced the news in a joint statement, Rahman took to X to post about his latest musical achievement, bagging the Hollywood Music in Media Award for The Goat Life. The survival drama film was nominated in two categories at the HMMA.
Soon after Rahman shared the news of his HMMA win, his fans flooded his comments section with congratulatory messages.

On November 20, AR Rahman took to X to confirm the separation, after his wife Saira Banu issued an statement through her advocate. Confirming the news, Rahman wrote, “We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. To our friends, thank you for your kindness and for respecting our privacy as we walk through this fragile chapter.”

Rahman), Vandana Shah and Associates issue the following statement regarding the couple’s decision to part ways. After many years of marriage, Mrs. Saira and her husband Mr. A R. Rahman have made the difficult decision to separate from each other. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time. Following the announcement, Rahman’s daughters Khatija and Raheema took to their respective social media accounts to request privacy. Khatija wrote on X, “We kindly request everyone to respect our privacy during this time. Thank you for your understanding. I would greatly appreciate it if this matter could be treated with the utmost privacy and respect. Thank you for your consideration.” Meanwhile, Raheema shared a screenshot of her father’s tweet and wrote, “Keep us in your prayers.”
The couple had tied the knot in 1995. They are parents to Khatija Rahman, Raheema Rahman, and AR Ameen.
