Sai Pallavi reacts to rumours of turning vegetarian for Sita’s role in Ramayana; threatens legal action: ‘You will hear from me legally’

Reports claiming that actor Sai Pallavi has abstained from non-vegetarian food to play her role as Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated Ramayana have been making rounds for quite some time. However, the Kali actor recently dismissed these rumours with a strongly-worded statement on X (formerly Twitter), threatening legal action against publications spreading false news. Her reaction came after a Tamil publication reported that Sai Pallavi had turned vegetarian for the role.

Taking to X, Sai Pallavi wrote, “Most of the times, Almost every-time, I choose to stay silent whenever I see baseless rumours/ fabricated lies/ incorrect statements being spread with or without motives(God knows) but it’s high-time that I react as it keeps happening consistently and doesn’t seem to cease; especially around the time of my films’ releases/ announcements/ cherish-able moments of my career! Next time I see any “reputed” page or media/ individual carrying a cooked up crappy story in the name of news or gossip then you will hear from me legally! Period!”

Interestingly, Sai Pallavi has always been a vegetarian, a fact she mentioned in a previous interview. She shared, “If you take food, I am forever a vegetarian. I can’t see when a life dies. I can’t hurt another person and think that it is okay, they deserve it.” Meanwhile, it was also rumoured that Ranbir Kapoor, who is playing the role of Ram in the film, has adopted a vegetarian diet as part of his preparation. However, Ranbir hasn’t confirmed this publicly.

Adding to the excitement surrounding the film, Sunny Deol recently revealed more details about Ramayana at the third edition of SCREEN Live. Accompanied by his brother Bobby Deol, Sunny confirmed that he has a pivotal role in the project. He said, “Ramayana is a long project because they’re trying to make it the way Avatar and Planet of the Apes movies were made. All those technicians are a part of it. The writer and director are very clear about the way it has to be and how the characters should be presented.”
