Bengaluru Midnight Marathon: A look at traffic diversions in city from December 14 afternoon

As part of the 17th Bengaluru Midnight Marathon scheduled on the intervening night of December 14 and 15, the city traffic police on Thursday issued an advisory restricting vehicles on key roads from 3 pm on December 14 to 5 am on December 15.

“Motorists are requested to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays. Traffic personnel will be deployed to manage the flow of vehicles and assist commuters during the event,” a statement by the traffic police department said.

Participants from more than 20 countries will participate in the mega marathon being organised by the Rotary Bengaluru IT Corridor at KTPO, Whitefield.

According to the traffic advisory, vehicle movement will be restricted on the left side of the road from Ginger Hotel Junction near Kundalahalli Metro Station to the ITPL Back Gate.

Commuters travelling from Graphite India Junction towards Vydehi and ITPL are advised to take a right turn at Ginger Hotel and proceed towards the ITPL Back Gate on the right side of the road. From there, they can reach Big Bazaar and take a left turn to continue towards Hoodi. Those heading towards Hope Farm can turn right at Shantiniketan and proceed to their destination via Hope Farm or Channasandra, the traffic police said in the statement.

Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses and heavy goods vehicles travelling from Kundalahalli towards Vydehi should continue straight at Graphite India Junction, then turn left at Sumadhura Nandana Apartments, and proceed straight to NetApp Junction. From there, they can turn right and continue towards ITPL and Hope Farm, the advisory stated.
