In the fourth incident in a week, around 20 Delhi schools, including RK Puram’s Delhi Public School, received yet another bomb threat via email Monday. The police said that the email was sent to the schools around 1:30 am and the first call alerting the police of the situation was reported around 7 am.
“We conducted comprehensive checks and nothing suspicious was found,” a senior officer told The Indian Express.
With this, around 100 schools in Delhi-NCR have received similar threats via email on four separate occasions since December 9. Around 40 schools received an email threatening to detonate multiple bombs planted in school campuses across Delhi on December 9. Four days later, 30 more schools received bomb threats via an email.
On Saturday, five schools in Delhi, two in Gurgaon and one college campus in Noida received similar emails. DPS RK Puram had received an email on Saturday and December 9 before both the threats were declared a hoax.
In the past eight months, several key institutions in Delhi — schools, colleges, hospitals and the airport — have received numerous bomb threats that had eventually turned out to be hoaxes.
