Two people were arrested on Saturday while police are on the lookout for two more men who allegedly lured a 17-year-old girl, threatened her and raped her between July and September this year.
The incident came to the fore after the minor girl complained of health issues and on being taken to the hospital, the doctors informed her aunt that she was three-months pregnant.
According to police, the girl lives with her aunt and does not attend school. Police said the girl is shy in nature and usually stays at home. The four accused work in a catering agency and live in her neighbourhood.
According to police, between July and September this year, the four accused allegedly raped the girl in a room when her aunt was at work. They allegedly threatened the girl with dire consequences and sexually assaulted her, said police.
Recently, when the girl developed health complications, her aunt rushed her to a civic-run hospital, where during examination, doctors informed her aunt that she was three-months pregnant.
The police were informed and they recorded the minor’s statement, in which she named the four men who allegedly sexually assaulted her.
“Based on the girl’s statement and her aunt’s complaint, we immediately arrested two men under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and are looking for two more, who are out of the state,” said a police officer.
