Pushpa 2 box office collection day 18 early report: Biggest Hindi grosser of all time. Fastest film to cross the Rs 600 crore mark. Highest grossing film of 2024. And a few more records continue to tumble as Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to mark its strong presence across the country. The Allu Arjun movie, directed by Sukumar, has also crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark in the domestic market, becoming just the second film after Baahubali 2 to achieve this remarkable target. After 17 days of its run, the film had amassed Rs 1029.65 crore in the domestic market, and over Rs 1500 crore in global collections. Now, according to trade website Sacnilk, the film has crossed Baahubali 2’s domestic collections to become the biggest grosser in India (nett).

According to the early reports from the first two shows on Sunday, the film has earned Rs 22.7 crore. This has taken the tally to Rs 1052.5 crore, and has crossed the nett collection of Baahubali 2, which stands at Rs 1030.42. With the Telugu occupancy at a whopping 46.2 % and the occupancy for the Hindi version presently at 45.17 %, it is clear that the Sunday numbers might be much more than both the Friday and Saturday numbers, and ensure that Pushpa 2 flag flies high.
Despite the golden run of the movie across centres in India and the globe, team Pushpa 2 find themselves in an intense quagmire over the death of a woman due to a stampede that occurred in a Hyderabad theatre during the premiere show. Allu Arjun, who was present at the show, has been charged on multiple counts for the woman’s death, and was even arrested and kept in the jail for a night. This has lead to a lot of controversy around the film. But, the movie has shown no signs of slowing down, as it tramples every film coming its way.
With just days left for the release of Hindi cinema’s biggest offing in a while, director Kalees’ Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi, it would be interesting to see if theatres would reduce Pushpa 2 shows to accommodate the new film, presented by Atlee.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun’s war of words with the Telangana government continues to make headlines, and it seems to be the only news that can overshadow the stupendous success of Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Directed by Sukumar, and starring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil alongside Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2 hit screens on December 5, and since then, has become a phenomenon that not many can emulate, but that wouldn’t stop them from trying.
