Gujarat: BJP fires office bearer for violating party mandate for Unjha APMC polls

A general secretary of BJP’s Unjha town unit in Mehsana district, Dipak Patel, has been removed from the post by the party after he filed his nomination in the general elections of Unjha Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) in violation of the party mandate.

Girish Rajgor, the Mehsana district president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), passed the order while removing Patel from the post of Unjha town general secretary of the party with immediate effect.

Rajgor said that the party has given mandate to various party members in the elections and Patel has continued his candidature against them in the elections by disrespecting the mandate. And therefore, he has been removed from the post, he added.

Voting for the Unjha APMC elections is scheduled on Monday. Unjha APMC is considered the world’s largest wholesale market for cumin.
